Terms of Service

Welcome to Greatville Hotels in Lagos. By accessing our website or booking a stay, you agree to the following terms and conditions, which are designed to ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for all guests. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.


Reservations and Booking
Availability: All reservations are subject to room availability and confirmation by the hotel. We reserve the right to decline a booking if a room is not available or under special circumstances.


Booking Process: Reservations can be made directly on our website or via our reservations team. A valid payment method is required to confirm booking. In some cases, an advance deposit (e.g. 50% of the total amount) may be required to secure the reservation, with the balance payable at check‑in. Once your booking is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email with the details.

Third-Party Bookings: If you make a reservation through an independent booking website or travel agent, be aware that their terms and policies may apply in addition to ours. Greatville Hotels is not responsible for the content or policies of third-party websites. However, any bookings made through authorized partners are generally communicated to us for confirmation. For assistance with third-party bookings, please contact that provider directly, or reach out to our team for guidance.

Rate Policy: Room rates are quoted in Nigerian Naira (₦) and include applicable taxes and service charges, unless stated otherwise. Rates typically include a complimentary breakfast for one guest per room per night. Additional guests’ breakfasts or other services (extra beds, etc.) will incur extra charges. All rates are subject to change without prior notice, but your confirmed reservation rate is guaranteed (except in case of obvious error).



Check-In and Check-Out

Check-In Time: Standard check-in time is 2:00 PM. If your reserved room is ready early, we may allow check-in as early as 8:00 AM (on the day of arrival) as a courtesy. Early check-in is subject to availability and is not guaranteed.

Check-Out Time: Check-out time is 12:00 PM (noon) on the departure date. Please plan to vacate your room by this time so we can prepare for incoming guests.

Early Check-in / Late Check-out: Early check-ins and late check-outs may be arranged upon request and are subject to availability. Additional charges may apply for checking in early or checking out past 12:00 PM. Late departures without prior arrangement beyond 12:00 PM may attract an extra night’s charge.

Identification Requirements: All guests must present a valid government-issued photo ID at check-in for registration. Acceptable IDs include National ID Card, Voter’s Card, Driver’s License, or International Passport. The name on the reservation must match the name on the ID. Guests who cannot provide valid identification may be refused accommodation.

Minimum Age: Guests must be at least 18 years old to check in to a room. Minors (under 18) must be accompanied by an adult guardian. We do not rent rooms to unaccompanied minors.
Security Deposit at Check-In: A refundable security deposit may be required at check-in (in cash or by card pre-authorization) to cover incidentals or damage. This deposit is typically returned in full at check-out if no damage, loss, or incidentals are incurred during the stay.



Room Occupancy and Guest Policy
Maximum Occupancy: Our rooms are designed to accommodate a maximum of two (2) adults per room for comfort and safety. We do not allow more than two persons in a room without prior approval from management (this applies to adults and children). Extra-person charges (for an additional guest or child) may apply and are subject to management’s discretion. If you have a special situation (e.g. an infant or small child), please contact us in advance – we may allow one young child to share the room with parents on existing bedding or provide a crib, depending on availability.

Children Policy: All children are welcome at Greatville Hotels. However, a child or infant counts toward the room’s occupancy limit unless otherwise stated. Extra Beds/Cribs: One crib for an infant or one extra bed for an older child may be provided on request, subject to availability and confirmation by management. Additional charges may apply for extra beds or additional guests. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times during the stay.

Quiet Hours and Conduct: To ensure all guests have a peaceful stay, we enforce quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Guests are expected to keep noise to a minimum during this period. Loud music, parties, or any disturbance to other guests are not allowed. Onsite parties or group events are strictly prohibited in guest rooms without prior arrangement. The hotel reserves the right to take corrective action (including eviction without refund) if a guest’s behavior is unruly, causes disturbance, or poses a safety risk to others.

Non-Registered Visitors: For security, only registered guests are allowed in hotel rooms after 10:00 PM. If you wish to have a visitor in your room, please notify the front desk. All visitors must comply with hotel policies. No unregistered person may stay overnight in your room.



Hotel Facilities and Services
Breakfast: All room reservations include complimentary breakfast for one guest per room per night, served at our restaurant each morning. If a second guest is registered in the room and also wishes to have breakfast, additional breakfast can be purchased for an extra fee. Breakfast service times and details will be provided at check-in.

Wi‑Fi: Complimentary Wi‑Fi internet access is provided for all guests throughout the hotel premises. Usage of our internet is subject to our fair use policy – activities that are illegal or that disrupt network performance for others are prohibited.

Parking: We offer free private parking for guests at our hotel (no reservation needed for parking). Please note that parking is at the vehicle owner’s risk. While we take precautions, the hotel is not liable for theft or damage to vehicles in our parking area.

Swimming Pool & Gym: Registered hotel guests have access to our on-site swimming pool and fitness center. The pool is open daily from 7:00 AM until 6:00 PM, and the gym is open until 9:00 PM. These facilities are provided for your enjoyment; however, please use them responsibly and at your own risk. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult when using the pool or gym. Proper attire is required (swimwear for the pool, athletic shoes for the gym), and for everyone’s safety, please adhere to any posted rules or instructions from hotel staff. (Note: No lifeguard is on duty at the pool.)

Housekeeping: Daily housekeeping service is provided for all guest rooms. If you have any special requests (extra towels, laundry services, etc.), please contact the front desk. Additional services like laundry or ironing may incur extra charges. To conserve resources, we encourage reuse of linens when possible.

Damage and Missing Items: Guests are expected to treat hotel property with care. You will be held responsible for any damage to your room or other hotel facilities caused by you or your visitors, whether accidental or willful. This includes damage to furniture, fixtures, equipment, linens, etc., and removal of any hotel property. The cost of repairs or replacements will be charged to the guest’s account, and in severe cases, additional cleaning fees or penalties may apply. We reserve the right to charge the credit card on file or deduct from the security deposit for such damages. Additionally, a refundable security deposit of ₦20,000 (in cash) is required for certain situations (e.g. see Special Arrangements below) and will be returned upon confirming no damage or loss.

Lost & Found: The hotel is not responsible for personal items left unattended in rooms or public areas. Guests are advised to secure their valuables. An in-room safe is provided in many rooms (where available) for your convenience, or you may deposit valuables with the front office for safekeeping. While we will do our best to assist, the hotel will not be liable for any loss or theft of cash, jewelry, or other valuables not entrusted to us for safekeeping.

Smoking Policy: All guest rooms and indoor areas are non‑smoking for health and safety reasons. This includes vaping and the use of e‑cigarettes. Smoking is only permitted in designated outdoor smoking areas on the hotel premises. If a guest smokes in a non‑smoking room, a deep cleaning fee will be charged (to cover cleaning of drapes, carpets, etc.). Please cooperate with this policy to avoid penalties and ensure a comfortable environment for all.

Pet Policy: We regret that pets are not allowed within the hotel premises or guest rooms. This policy is in place to protect all guests – some of whom may have allergies – and to maintain our rooms in top condition. Only certified service animals (for guests with disabilities) may be permitted by prior arrangement; you must notify us in advance and provide documentation. Any unauthorized pets found may result in a cleaning fee and/or the pet being required to leave.
Outside Food and Beverages: Bringing outside food or alcoholic beverages into the hotel’s rooms or restaurants is not allowed without prior permission. We offer on-site dining options (restaurant and bar) for your convenience. In special cases (such as dietary needs), you may coordinate with management. A corkage fee may apply for any outside food/beverage consumption on premises. This policy helps us ensure hygiene and quality, as well as comply with food safety regulations.



Special Arrangements and Additional Fees
Wedding & Event Photography: We welcome guests celebrating special occasions. However, if you wish to use the hotel premises (including common areas, lobby, hallways, or exterior grounds) for professional photography or a photoshoot (such as wedding pictures), advance permission from management is required. For wedding shoots or similar events, the hotel charges a location fee of ₦30,000 for photo sessions around the hotel premises, including hallways and outdoor areas. Additionally, a refundable cash deposit of ₦20,000 is required before the photoshoot begins, which will cover any potential damages. This deposit will be returned after the shoot, provided no damage is found and hotel property is intact. These fees and policies ensure that such activities do not disturb other guests and that any incidental damages are covered. Please contact the hotel in advance to schedule any on-site photography sessions. (Note: Informal personal photography by guests for memories is of course allowed; this fee applies only to professional or event photo sessions with photographers, bridal parties, etc.)

Group Bookings: For group reservations (e.g., booking more than 5 rooms for the same period), special terms and conditions may apply. Group bookings may require a separate agreement or advance payment such as a higher deposit to guarantee the rooms, and a longer cancellation notice period might be in effect. We also may offer group rates or added services for large bookings. We encourage groups to contact our reservations department directly to discuss requirements. The hotel reserves the right to treat group bookings differently from individual bookings in terms of payment and cancellation policy, to ensure fairness and adequate preparation for your group’s needs.


Special Requests: Any special requests (for example: specific room location, late arrivals, airport transfer, anniversary arrangements, etc.) should be mentioned at the time of booking or well in advance. We will make every effort to accommodate reasonable requests but cannot guarantee that all requests will be fulfilled. Special requests are subject to availability upon arrival and may incur additional charges. The hotel’s failure to fulfill a special request will not constitute a breach of contract or be ground for any compensation.



Payment and Credit Policy
Accepted Payment Methods: We accept various forms of payment for your convenience. These include:

Online Payment: You may pay for your booking on our website using our secure payment gateways. We partner with trusted payment processors such as Flutterwave and Paystack for Nigerian Naira payments, as well as Visa/MasterCard credit or debit cards.

Cards and Cash: At the hotel, we accept cash (Naira) and major credit/debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, etc.) for payment. POS (Point of Sale) card payments are available on-site. We also accept bank transfers or deposits for reservations on a case-by-case basis (please coordinate with our team if you wish to pay via bank deposit).

Payment Timing: For reservations made through our website, you might be charged at the time of booking (especially for advance purchase or promo rates). In other cases, we may only take a deposit and you can pay the balance upon check-in. Your confirmation will state the payment requirements. If a deposit is required and not received by the specified deadline, the hotel reserves the right to cancel the booking.

Card Authorization: The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorize your credit card prior to arrival. This means we may hold an amount on your card (typically equivalent to one night’s stay or the full amount, depending on rate conditions) to ensure the card is valid and has sufficient funds. This is a standard hotel practice to guarantee your reservation.

Currency and Exchange: All charges are processed in Nigerian Naira. If your card is issued in another currency, your bank may apply its own exchange rate and fees. The hotel is not responsible for any currency conversion differences or bank fees.

Refundable Deposits: As noted under Check-In, we may collect a refundable deposit at check-in to cover incidentals (e.g., minibar, room service, damages). This deposit can be provided in cash or held on your card. It will be refunded or released at check-out after deducting any pending charges. Please note that if you paid the deposit by card pre-authorization, the release time depends on your bank (it may take several days for the hold to disappear).

Refunds: Any refunds (due to a cancellation or overcharge, for example) will be processed to the original payment method. Please note that it may take a few business days for the amount to reflect in your account, due to banking processes. For specifics on refunds related to cancellations, see the Cancellation Policy section. Generally, we aim to process eligible refunds within 7 days of confirmation of the cancellation/request.
